Tran Hung Dao by josephacheng Tran Hung Dao by josephacheng
This is a statue of Tran Hung Dao on the street named after him in Ho Chi Minh. A man on the street who saw me taking pictures told me he was the leader of a fleet of Chinese ships that sailed to Ho Chi Minh, then Saigon, searching for a new home.

Note: those back specs in the background are birds, not dust on my sensor.

He looks so forbidding! From this angle, it looks as though he's some giant perched on top of a building.

I think he's pointing at me, challenging me to a swordfight! Game on! :P

Love the monochrome and shadows of this one. Gives it a professional, or rather majestic look.

and LOL you gave me a reason to clean the dust off my monitor when you mentioned the bird specs xD
